Logical recovery
Deleted files, corrupted partitions, failed OS upgrades, ransomware-damaged shares and drives that mount but will not read. Recovered to fresh media, never back onto the failing device.
Everything below is quoted as a fixed scope wherever the work can be scoped in advance. Where it genuinely cannot — deep fault-finding, data recovery from a failing drive — we agree a ceiling with you before we start, and we stop at it.
A structured, vendor-neutral look at what you run today: the systems, the licences, the hardware, the contracts and the quiet risks nobody has had time to look at. You get a plain-English report — what is fine, what is fragile, what is costing more than it should, and a costed order of work you can spread over months rather than swallow at once.
This is the trade half of the business, and we take it seriously. Every device is triaged before anything is dismantled: symptom reproduced, storage health read, thermals logged, memory tested. Only then do we quote — because a fixed price given before diagnosis is a guess, and guesses get expensive.
Most people only think about their data on the day it disappears. We handle both ends of that: getting it back when a drive fails, and making sure the next failure is a non-event.
Deleted files, corrupted partitions, failed OS upgrades, ransomware-damaged shares and drives that mount but will not read. Recovered to fresh media, never back onto the failing device.
Sector-level imaging of drives with early mechanical or flash failure, working from the image rather than the original so the patient is not stressed further. Where a case needs a clean-room specialist, we say so and refer rather than experiment.
Moving someone onto a new machine with their files, mail, signatures, licences, printers and browser profiles intact — done overnight or at the weekend where downtime matters.
A backup you have never restored from is a hypothesis. We set up local and cloud copies, then prove a restore works and show you how to do it yourself.
Certified wiping of drives before machines are resold, donated or recycled, with a written record — so old company data does not leave the building inside a retired laptop.
Advice on what to keep, what to redeploy internally and what to responsibly recycle under WEEE, with the useful life of each machine assessed honestly.
Most small organisations are already paying for far more cloud capability than they use, and are protected by far less of it than they assume. We set tenants up properly, migrate what needs migrating, switch on the security features that come with the licence you already hold, and stop paying for the seats you do not.
Slow internet is rarely the internet. We survey the site, find out where the signal actually dies, and fix the cause rather than adding another extender to the pile. For business premises that usually means proper access-point placement, a wired backbone where it matters, and staff traffic kept apart from guest traffic.
Ongoing cover for organisations that want a known number to call and somebody who already understands how their setup is wired. Agreed in a short written schedule — what is covered, what the response target is, what it costs — with no minimum multi-year lock-in.
Remote support for the daily friction — printers, accounts, mail, permissions, "it was working yesterday" — with an agreed response target on working days and on-site attendance when remote will not do it.
Operating system and application updates on a schedule rather than a whim, endpoint protection that is actually reporting in, and a monthly note telling you which machines are falling behind.
Local and off-site copies, restore tests you can see the results of, and a one-page continuity plan covering what happens if the office is unreachable on Monday morning.
A repeatable process for setting people up and — just as importantly — shutting accounts down properly when they leave, with their data handed over rather than orphaned.
A rolling view of device age, warranty status and security support, so hardware is replaced on a planned budget line rather than in an emergency at the worst possible moment.
Once a year we sit down, look at what changed, what broke, what it cost and what should change next. Short, honest and included — because drift is what turns a good setup into a bad one.
Three shapes, chosen to fit the work rather than to maximise the invoice.
A review, a migration, an office rebuild. Written scope, written price, agreed dates. If we underestimate it, that is our problem — the price you approved is the price you pay.
A small diagnostic fee, credited against the repair. Then a fixed quote for parts and labour. No fault found or not economically repairable? The diagnostic fee is waived.
A monthly fee for an agreed scope, device count and response target. Reviewed annually, cancellable with notice, no multi-year lock-in and no penalty for growing or shrinking.
Yes, and it is a common way to start. We ask for the handover items any provider should give you — admin credentials, licence ownership, domain and DNS control, backup configuration and network documentation — and we tell you plainly if any of them are missing. We will not disparage the outgoing provider; we will just document what we find.
We are not a reseller and we take no commission or rebate. If you would like us to handle procurement we will do it at supplier cost plus a stated handling fee agreed in advance, and you will see the supplier invoice. Otherwise we simply tell you the exact specification to buy and you buy it yourself.
Yes. Parts we supply carry their manufacturer warranty, and our labour on a given repair is warranted for a period stated on the job record — normally 90 days. It covers the fault we repaired; it cannot cover an unrelated later failure or accidental damage, and we will always tell you which one we think you are looking at.
Then you are told early and honestly. We agree a ceiling on recovery effort before starting, we work from a disk image rather than the failing original where possible, and if a case needs clean-room hardware we refer you to a specialist instead of experimenting on the only copy of your data.
For migrations, network cutovers and anything that takes systems offline, evening and weekend work is usually the right call and is quoted as part of the scope. For routine support, our standard hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00–18:00 UK time.
Email support@pktechgurus.pro with a description of the problem, the device or the decision. There is no charge for that first exchange, and if what you need is outside what we do, we will say so rather than stretch to fit it.
Whichever it is, the first reply costs nothing and comes from someone who will also be doing the work.
